Since its inception in 2003, Vichar Sanstha has taken up numerous initiatives of social service relating to problem redressal, orphans, handicapped, elderly, army and jail.
Our social service initiatives include:-
- When it comes to issues/ complains such as fraud, encroachment and infrastructural issues, the NGO has recorded 20,000 complains and resolved 8,000 problems
- Facilitating the making of 1500+ Aadhar cards
- Facilitating the making of digital life certificates for retired persons
- The NGO runs a ‘Neki ka Ghar’ facility where people can leave their old clothes and those in need can take them
- The NGO contributes to the welfare of the elderly through frequent visits to the local orphanage, medical check-ups and distribution of equipment such as walking sticks
- Activities empowering orphans have include an year long series of weekly personality development sessions and regular cultural activities
- Aid provided to handicapped persons includes provision of corrective equipment to 250+ persons and frequent activities at Gharonda Ashram (home for handicapped persons)
- Our tribute to the army includes honouring the families of those who have sacrificed their lives for our nation, sending hand made ‘thank you’ cards the soldiers on duty
- Activities organised for the prisoners in jail include frequent visits and motivational talks, spreading awareness for bad effects of drugs and alcohol
- At times of COVID crisis, the NGO also distributed 11000 litre sanitizing water, 1911 ration kits and ran a video van for creating awareness regarding necessary precautions
