Vichar Sanstha has taken a long term approach towards protecting the environment by recording pollution levels at regular intervals of time and accordingly planning interventions for checking air, water, soil as well as noise pollution.

Our initiatives for protecting the environment include:-

• Recording pollution levels using Decibel Metre for Noise Pollution, Handheld PM 2.5 and PM 10 monitor for Air Pollution, TDS meter, PH meter and Electrolyzer for Water Pollution
• At Mangalgiri in Sagar (M.P.), 7000 plants planted by 5000 people have grown into trees under the maintenance of the NGO
• 11000 people have put 111111 seed balls in Rajghat, out of which 14800 trees have successfully grown, as per survey
• NGO’s slum area volunteers as well as beneficiaries have grown 1500 plants in nursery bags, disposable plastic bags/boxes and handed them over to the NGO to be planted and maintained in suitable areas
• Under the NGO’s various campaigns, 10000+ individual plantations have been done till date
• The NGO facilitates business which are beneficial for the environment such as manufacturing of Gobar Diyas (cow dung earthen lamps), organic mosquito repellant, etc. 
• The NGO also assists people in making soak pits outside their houses to increase ground water level.
