Health and Hygiene

The core objective of Vichar Sanstha is to improve the lives of people, an essential aspect of which is working on health and hygiene. 

Our initiatives for promoting Health and Hygiene include:-

• The NGO runs a 24x7 Blood Donation Helpline and has conducted 300+ Blood Donation Camps
• The NGO runs a 24x7 Funeral Vehicle Service
• The NGO has run free Health Check-up service at its office for 1 year and conducted 300+ Health Check-up camps in remote areas
• In the fight against alcoholism, the NGO has organized 150 awareness camps, a 15 min city wide blackout and collected 1.25 lac signatures for alcohol ban
• The NGO advocates 11 points on hygiene (Swacchta) in its slum area network of 12,500 families
• Various yoga camps are regularly organised by the NGO including ‘The Art of Living’ Foundation’s Nav Chetna Shivir, Bal Chetna Shivir
• The NGO provides sanitary napkins at lower than market price ( ₹2.5 per pad) and educates women on menstrual hygiene 
• At times of COVID crisis, the NGO ran a help desk at the district hospital and helped 1480 patients in ways such as taking daily updates of my recovery, counselling patients as well as their family members, facilitating video calls, transporting belongings and helping with the discharge process
